Net Tesfay

Netsanet (Net) Tesfay is a children’s book illustrator and graphic designer residing in Northern California with her husband and two daughters. Originally from Ethiopia, her vibrant artwork is deeply influenced by her heritage and the rich tapestry of Ethiopian culture. Employing both digital and traditional media, her visual aesthetic is characterized by a whimsical, bold, and colorful graphic style. In her creative practice, she channels her passion for activism, social justice, and her affinity for flora and fauna.  Net holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design, and some of her collaborative portfolio includes partnerships with entities such as Target, Little, Brown & Co., Barefoot Books, Simon & Schuster, and the City of Walnut Creek. Her award-winning original artwork has been showcased nationally through juried exhibitions and has graced notable galleries, including the De Young Museum. Her work has garnered recognition in Bay Area publications such as the East Bay Times and Diablo Magazine.  Beyond her artistic endeavors, Net enjoys reading, listening to podcasts and comedic acts, engaging in community volunteering opportunities, antiquing, and immersing herself in the natural world.
